Despite what's said in this blog, UNITEN or universiti tenaga nasional should be considered as an option if you plan on pursuing a degree in either engineering or computer science.
The environment here isn't that bad and we have really good fried chicken too. The student life here isn't as bad as you think because there's so much you can do. The tenners would like to wish all of you readers out there best of luck and to always strive to be the best. Thank you for your time and we hope to see you again.
A special shout out to our ENGB213 lecturer Ms Alicia, thank you for all the help, guidance and advice given, we couldn't have asked for a better lecturer, especially one with the patience to deal with all of us. haha. That's it folks. Till next time.

P.s If you're wondering which fried chicken i'm talking about, the restaurant is called aroma chicken rice and it's at the COE (college of engineering) cafe.

Uniten is among the best ten private universities in Malaysia based on the research that I recently did. This post is basically about the awards that Uniten obtained for the past few years.  in 2012, Uniten won “the best brand in corporate branding best brands in Engineering” which is quite an achievement  for us since its our first time. Besides that, uniten won more than one award in the same year which is The Golden Europe Awar d for Quality and Comercial Prestige .
In the year of 2011 had been our successful year as we won 5 award in the same year. The awards given were Total Quality Management Program Fast Track Model from SIRIM,  International Standard Quality Award (ISQ) 2011 for Quality College and Universities, The Platinum Category of the CQE Century International Quality ERA Award 2011, and The Brandlaureate 2010-2011 Best Brand in Tertiary Education – Engineering.
We as the students are proud and glad with the achievement they had and would like to take it opportunities to study well as best as would as a return.

Product  of Uniten

hello! As you can see above the title for this post will be the product of uniten. For those who are reading this must be wondering and curious to know what does it mean by the product of uniten?
well basically that’s the reason why I’m posting this post. I’ll show you some of the products of uniten delivered by the students.

The product is called the Solar Ranger vehicle. The undergraduate students worked together as an organization to deliver a high performance solat powered vehicle and were advised by the lecturers from the college of engineering along the project process in order to complete the project. That was an excellent experience as they managed to create a “vehicle”, not just a toy but a REAL VEHICLE which acquired a driver.
Other than the solar project, there’s one robotic competition which is organized by the students from mobile robotic club located at Dewan Sri Sarjana once a year called “RoboGamez”. The objective is to let the students getting involved in  a more hands-on and practical aspect in engineering and technology through robotics. The competition is open for all categories which are undergraduate students, secondary  and primary school students.

Surprisingly the price is pretty high. The champion for open categories will bring home RM 3,000 and RM2,000 for the runners-up. Trophies and certificates will be included as well.
I think thats all for this post. thank you

Reflections about UNITEN

Firstly, how about the previous entry. Is it okay or not? I hope it’s okay to you guys.My next entry is about my reflections in UNITEN. In my opinion, this university is fantastic because the environment is a perfect place for a student who want a clean and comfortable place to study. This university also provide a quality in education to prepare students for positons in any industry. The environment  in UNITEN is very comprehensive and very attractive. It is because the university prepare enough facilities for their student to study such as lab , computer lab , projectors and many more. It can give the students more interested and encouragement in their studies. For me, their service is very professional. Because it can make their client very comfortable when dealing with UNITEN. Other than that, the facilities in for recreation and sports in UNITEN is many such as gymnasium , swimming pool , football field , rugby field and many more. Last but not least, I recommend Universiti Tenaga Nasional  as a place for the next generation to study. And I will not regret  what I’m saying.

I think that’s all from me for today.

Goodbye!!!

Assalamualaikum and hi viewers. First of all, I would like to thank to all of you that had read the previous entry that I had posted recently. Now, my next entry is about lecturer that I had be their student for previous  semester in UNITEN.Let me introduce first, her name is Miss Shakirah. She is the one of my favourite lecturer. Why? It is because I really understand what she taught to me. She taught us well and she always make an effort  to make their student really understand what she taught. She is also linient in marking our exam paper. Other than that, she is always give us advice to make us more interested in any subject. And always give us advice to being a responsible person.
This is miss Shakirah
And this is Pn. Marniyati

The next lecturer, is Puan Marniyati. Well, she is also my favourite lecturer. It is because she is kind-hearted and always smile to their student no matter where you are.Unless she don’t know you well.In her class, we can bring food without hesitation and as a student , we don’t have any stress when she taught us.She is also not a very serious person. It is because she is always easy to laugh and smile when student make a joke even a silly joke. This is why we not stress in a class.Next, she is an understandable  person. Why? Because she is okay with students that came a little bit late to her class.Last but not least, she is very sociable person and she is even give us her personal phone number to ask about study and even our personal problem.

I think that’s all from me for today.
Goodbye!!!

Lunch!

It's two days left until the deadline and we are still thinking about what we are going to post. This week to be honest, is a very hectic week for us. Subject registrations, financial blocking, English proposal, BM's short film. Those are very much the things that stress us. But hey, what are life without problems. Problems are the salt and sugar that colours our life, be grateful for it.

So, I decided to talk about the best place for lunch in Uniten. As you all had realized, or will soon realize, the one place most of the students in Uniten will avoid, or worst not taking even a single glance to, is the COIT's cafe. I'm not trying to troll the owner or whatever you may assume, but this is the real deal. The most expensive place to get food I think. If the food is good, I don't think I mind it at all, but to be honest. The food is not very good, trust me. I have my experiences. One of my friend, when we was just enrolled in COIT for a few days, was very hungry he that could eat his own hand, *exxageration, he went to the cafe, and grab a plate of spaghetti. He took quite a small amount as I can recall, with some sausages and hashbrowns, and he was really shocked that he had to pay like almost RM 9.00 for that. And we was, WHAT?!. Then we swore together not to eat there anymore. And we don't.

That's pretty much all about the place we try to avoid for lunch. But the best place for lunch, in my opinion, is at COE's cafe. I can't remember the cafe's name, but I think everyone knows the fried chicken there. The best I must say. For only RM 3.00 for a fried chicken, coupled with a plate of rice and some vegies, cost only RM 5.00. That's the place I would love to be for lunch. I don't care if I have to queue for half an hour as long as there is a fried chicken for me.

If you don't believe what I wrote, go ahead and try. No worries, you can thank me later ;). Good bye
As you can see our previous post was about one of the various activities available here in UNITEN. Well swimming isn't the only thing we can do here and bumming around isn't the only thing we're all famous for. Because when the going gets tough, us students get tougher. Haha. Our graduates have a pretty impressive track record when it comes to big achievements and they're all smarter than they look to be honest. But then again all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so here's an overview of activities we do in our free time.

UNITEN"S battle of the bands

One very famous event we have here would be the battle of the bands, a very exciting session where students can showcase their talent in music and get away from studying for awhile.

And this here is the futsal court that we use on a daily basis.

One of the advantages being in Uniten is, we have a swimming pool. Not just any pool, it has the size of an olympic pool. Yes, enroll here outsiders, and maybe you can taste the feel of swimming in an olympic size pool. As you can see in the picture below, we, Uniten students, are enjoying it to the max. And we swim here every day. Yes, EVERY DAY guys and we love it.

It's quite explicit but I think it is appropriate to show how enjoyable the pool is.

I think that's all from us. Do come to our pool (^____^)

Picking up where we left off the other day, i was saying that UNITEN's accommodation and facilities aren't that bad. It's actually pretty decent compared to others, except for the fact that they do not have a squash court. They also have an olympic-sized swimming pool, a 400 meter track, and rowing facilities. I post pictures up soon, don't worry. Whats really cool is that these facilities mentioned above are only walking distances from either the apartments available here. Fun fact, did you know that apartments here can accommodate over 3,800 students, including a small number of units for married couples. They've got four different types of apartment units, single room for males, single room for females, twin-sharing room for males and twin-sharing for females. These four different apartments even have their own community and activities held for its residence and most of these activities provide scorun points. What is scorun you ask. Well its basically a system to evaluate how active you are in co-curricular activities here. The more active you are, the more points you get. More points are awarded on your position in club/society or on the level of participation. My room here has got a kitchenette, one shower and toilet, and a pretty big common room. A unit accommodates 4 students, which means that you'll have 4 single rooms in the single room unit and 2 twin sharing rooms in a twin-sharing unit. And don't worry, all these units are fully furnished. UNITEN even provides free shuttle bus services around campus.

My apologies for the previous post but yes the internet here can be disappointing at times, or maybe its just how it is at this hour. But i must say that the connection here can reach pretty impressive speeds of 190 kilobytes per second really early in the morning, around 7 to 9 am. The only reason i put myself through this monstrosity of an accommodation is the fact that it's a walking distance from my faculty, which is really helpful if you find it difficult to get out of your bed in the morning like i do. Actually, the apartments here aren't half as bad as i'm saying it is right now, i tend to over exaggerate things. Its also a walking distance to sports facilities, like a basketball court, swimming pool, gym and surprisingly a driving range.

Its about time we started this. All of us are swamped with our coursework to do right now till we almost forgot that this is considered as coursework too. Since i have touched to topic of our coursework, let me explain to you fellow readers out there about how it's like being a student here.

First of all, we all know that UNITEN is well known for it's engineering courses. They offer courses in Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical, Electrical power and Civil engineering. Owh, and not to forget the latest edition to the programs offered here, Computer and Communications engineering. Here in Putrajaya, people tend to overlook the fact that UNITEN's campus develops engineers but computer geeks as well. I here am the latter, the computer geek that's overshadowed by the great engineers produced here and having a faculty located way out of plain sight doesn't really help either. Our faculty offers programs in Computer science, either majoring in Software engineering or Systems and Networking and Information technology, with students majoring in either Information Systems or Graphics and Multimedia.

Studying here isn't all that bad as i expected at first. No doubt the workload is exhausting but it's ok. Then again when is studying ever a walk in the park. UNITEN has got pre-U courses as well if you were wondering. They offer foundation programs for it's IT and engineering courses and funny only one diploma course, Computer science.
